Headed by Lt Col Salem Sultan Al Ketbi, Director of the Mleiha Police Station, patrols responded after contacting the National Search and Rescue Centre.
Due to the inaccuracy of the location and its inaccessibility by traditional ambulances, they sent a helicopter to airlift the tourist to safety.
The man was then transferred to Al Dhaid Hospital, where he is receiving the necessary treatment.
Lt Col Al Ketbi urged residents and tourists to take the necessary precautions when going trekking and hiking.
He affirmed that given the mountainous terrain of the region, the centre was always ready to deal with any such accidents.
