The Windsor-Essex County Health Unit reported 30 new cases of COVID-19 in the region on Sunday.
Six of the new cases were close contacts of confirmed cases, four are attributed to community spread, two cases are outbreak related and the sources of transmission for the remaining 18 cases are still under investigation by health unit staff.
There were no additional deaths related to the virus. To date, 402 residents have lost their lives due to the coronavirus.
The overall number of local residents who have tested positive for the SARS-CoV-2 virus is 13,732.
There are 265 active cases in Windsor and Essex County, with 16 in hospital.
Preliminary testing has confirmed 56 variants of concern in the region.
Twelve locations in Windsor-Essex have active COVID-19 outbreaks, including one school, six workplaces and five community settings.
Efforts to inoculate area residents with COVID-19 vaccines continue, with 71,072 residents having received at least one dose of vaccine to date. Of those, 58,990 residents have received only one dose, while 12,082 have received both doses.

The health unit is also warning of possible COVID-19 exposures at two Tim Hortons locations.
The first was March 16 from 9:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. at the Devonshire Mall location.
The second occurred March 22 and 23, between 9:30 p.m. and 6 a.m., at the 5250 Walker Rd. location.
