Despite living thousands of miles away from my mom (I live in LA, she lives in Australia), I’ve never felt the distance because we’re always in constant communication—we message each other every day, multiple times a day across several platforms. But this year marks four years since I’ve been home (our flight was canceled last year due to COVID) and I really miss her.
