One of them is the world’s first Arab woman astronaut.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, took to Twitter to announce two new Emirati astronauts.

The new astronauts are Mohammed Al Mulla and the world’s first Arab woman astronaut, Nora Al Matrooshi.
According to the announcement, the two were chosen from over 4,000 applicants and will begin their training soon with the NASA astronaut programme.
“We congratulate our country on this occasion,” Sheikh Mohammed said. “We count on them to raise the name of the UAE in the sky.”
