A manhunt is underway in Paris after one person was shot dead and another injured outside a hospital.
Police said several shots were fired before the attacker fled the scene in an upscale district in the French capital.
A police source told Reuters the shooter escaped on a motorbike after killing one and injuring another person in front of the Henry Dunant hospital in western Paris.
A man was killed in the attack in the 16th arrondissement, according to a French broadcaster.
BFM TV reported a woman working at a security guard at the hospital was wounded.
The injured person is being treated at the hospital.
The police source told Reuters the motive for the attack is not known.
The Henry Dunant hospital, which is in one of the most high-end districts of Paris, is also being used as a Covid-19 vaccination centre.
It sits near the Roland Garros stadium, where the French Open tennis tournament takes place, and in the same arrondissement as many foreign embassies.
Television stations showed dozens of police officers securing the area around the Henry Dunant hospital after the shooting.
