A 55-year-old Windsor woman has been criminally charged in a hit-and-run case involving a seriously-injured 89-year-old man from Leamington.

Charges have been laid in connection with a hit-and-run incident involving an injured elderly pedestrian in Kingsville.
Essex County OPP said a 55-year-old Windsor woman went to a detachment office on Tuesday and was subsequently arrested as the driver in a case that happened last week.
The collision happened between a car and an 89-year-old male pedestrian from Leamington on the night of April 13, shortly before 11:25 p.m. on Highway 3 near County Road 34 in the municipality of Kingsville.
Police said the victim was crossing the street when he was struck by the westbound vehicle.
The driver did not remain at the scene. The vehicle left the area.
Police described the victim’s injuries as serious. He was transported to hospital for treatment.
Essex County OPP alerted the public about the incident and asked for information about the vehicle and its driver.

The Windsor woman will be charged with the criminal offence of failing to stop at the scene of an accident that caused bodily harm.
She is expected to make a court appearance at a later date.
