NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for the entire Tri-State Area until 6 p.m. Wednesday.
Additionally, a severe thunderstorm warning is in effect for Morris, Somerset, Middlesex, Hudson, Passaic, Union, Bergen and Essex counties in New Jersey and Orange and Rockland counties in New York until 2:45 p.m.

The line of thunderstorms was working its way in from the west.

The storms have a history of producing pea-to-dime size hail, and potentially damaging winds.
