New Delhi: Stressing on the need to maintain good coordination between the government and oxygen producers, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said this time is not only to deal with the challenges but also to provide solutions in a very short time.
Prime Minister Modi, who interacted with leading oxygen manufacturers across the country via video conferencing, said the government, states, industry, transporters and all hospitals need to come together and work in unison.

“The better the synergy and coordination, the easier it will be able to deal with this challenge,” he added.
Asserting there is a need to increase the availability of oxygen cylinders as well as upgrade the logistics facilities for transportation of oxygen, Prime Minister Modi called for utilising the industry’s full potential to meet the demand for medical oxygen in the coming days in a bid to improve the situation further.
He urged the industry to utilize tankers meant to transport other gases for oxygen supply.
Prime Minister Modi said the government is working on effective use of Railways and Air Force so that the tankers reach the production centre as soon as possible keeping in mind the requirements of states pertaining to oxygen.
Appreciating the oxygen producers, he extended the government’s full support to them and hoped the country would be successful in combating the crisis soon.

Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) Chairman and Managing Director Mukesh Ambani, Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) Chairperson Soma Mondal, JSW Group Chairman Sajjan Jindal, Tata Steel CEO and Managing Director T V Narendran, Jindal Steel and Power Limited (JSPL) Chairman Naveen Jindal, Dilip Oommen of AMNS, M. Bannerjee of LINDE, Sidharth Jain of Inox, Noriyo Shibuya of Air Water Jamshedpur, Rajesh Kumar Saraf of National Oxygen Ltd and All India Industrial Gases Manufacturers’ Association President Saket Tiku were present during the meeting.
