Mumbai: Several workers and supporters of the Congress on Tuesday staged a protest at the office of Storia Foods and Beverages in Mumbai’s Andheri West over company’s latest advertisement that allegedly mocked party’s President Sonia Gandhi and former President Rahul Gandhi.
Several reports and social media posts claim that Congress workers created a ruckus at company’s office and also broke windows of the building.
A video shared by news agency ANI shows that Congress workers in large number gathering outside Storia Foods and Beverages’s office with party’s flags in hands and raising slogans in support of Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi.
The workers were seen sloganeering ‘Mumbai Congress Zindabad’, ‘Sonia Gandhi Zindabad’ and ‘Rahul Gandhi Zindabad’
The video also shows Mumbai Police officials present at the spot to prevent any further damage.
Storia Foods and Beverages Controversial Ad
It all started after a beverages brand Storia Foods launched a commercial to market its chocolate shake. The Mumbai Congress has alleged that the advertisement mocked Wayanad MP Rahul Gandhi and party President Sonia Gandhi, asserting that such acts would not be tolerated.
The advertisement features famous comedian Sanket Bhosale using punchlines purportedly used by Rahul Gandhi during his election rally speeches and interviews. However, some statements in the advertisement were twisted and altered for entertainment purpose.

Popular comedian Sanket Bhosale, known for immitating Bollywood veteran actor Sanjay Dutt and others, recently made headline after he announced his engagement with Sugandha Mishra, a well-known comedienne and part of The Kapil Sharma Show.
Sanket is not only a comedian, but also a doctor. He was also one of the top 10 finalists in the stand-up comedy competition ‘Laugh India Laugh’. He has also trained Ranbir Kapoor to adopt the style and mannerism of Sanjay Dutt for his role in the movie ‘Sanju’.
