CHICAGO (CBS) — Impressive winds were seen along a front that passed through the area Thursday evening.
The winds and rain prompted a severe thunderstorm warning for the southwest Cook, south DuPage, northwest Will, and northeast Kendall counties. The strong winds later made their way to the downtown area.

Skies will clear through the night with a low of 48. Only fair-weather clouds will be around on Friday.

A gusty wind off the lake will hold temperatures near the shoreline in the upper 40s, with a high of 58 elsewhere.
Winds this weekend become strong out of the southwest and carry summer-like weather to our entire viewing area, even along the lakefront. The high for Saturday is 81, Sunday 82.
