Another 45 positive cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed, according to the latest numbers released Saturday by the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit.
Among those cases, 15 were listed as being acquired in the community, 11 were close contacts of confirmed cases, two are outbreak related, while another 17 cases remain under investigation.
There are currently 409 active cases of the virus in the local area, with 15 cases in hospital.
Overall, there have now been 15,479 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the Windsor area since the pandemic began.
Of those, there are 916 cases that have been identified as either preliminary or confirmed variant of concern cases.
Nine workplaces are listed as being in outbreak status with two community outbreaks, one in long-term care home and one school.
As of the end of Friday, 154,514 area residents have received at least one dose of a vaccine with another 13,878 having received two doses.

Across Ontario, there are 3,369 new cases of the virus confirmed and 29 deaths, according to the province’s health ministry. Among cities with the highest number are 1,050 in Toronto, 819 in Peel, 286 in York Region, 158 in Ottawa and 157 in Durham.
A record 900 people with the virus are now listed as being admitted into intensive care units in Ontario. Of those patients, 637 are connected to a ventilator.
As of Friday evening, another 107,700 doses of the vaccine were administered across the province over a 24-hour period. There have been 5,247,684 vaccine doses overall administered in Ontario, but only 373,559 people have received two doses.
