Hey Siri, Play Deezer on Apple HomePod

Music streaming platform Deezer is now compatible with Apple smart speakers. HomePod and HomePod mini owners can set Deezer as their default audio service and ask Siri to play any of its 73 million tracks.

Paying subscribers with iOS 14.3 and above, combined with the most up-to-date HomePod software, can use their voice to issue a range of commands—from specific tracks and artists to full albums or playlists. Try asking Siri to “play my Flow” for a mix of songs you love, as well as some fresh suggestions. And while you don’t have to set Deezer as your default listening app, it could shave precious seconds off your commands. If not, remember to say “on Deezer” at the end of each request: “Hey Siri, play Bad Bunny on Deezer” or “Hey Siri, play ‘Dance Monkey’ on Deezer.” Users can also like or dislike tracks, play on repeat, or shuffle. 

“Our listeners don’t have to compromise on audio quality thanks to HomePod,” Nicolas Pinoteau, director of partnership solutions at Deezer, said in a statement. Premium, HiFi, student, and family subscribers can now play their favorite music with ease—whether multitasking, or just resting your eyes and fingers for a bit.

Deezer on HomePod and HomePod mini is available in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, Mexico, Spain, the UK, and the US. The feature does not currently support podcasts, audiobooks, or live radio.

Solo listeners can tap into Deezer Premium for $9.99 per month ($4.99 for students), or sign up for the Family plan, which lets customers add up to six accounts for $14.99 a month. At the same price, audiophiles can experience music as if you’re in the recording studio with Deezer HiFi. An Apple HomePod, meanwhile, will set you back $299 for the standard model, or $99 for the mini.
