Chennai: Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) supremo M.K. Stalin will be sworn-in as the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister on Friday. A total of 34 minister-designates will take oath including him
“M.K. Stalin, the Chief Minister-designate has sent a list of persons to be appointed as Ministers of the State of Tamil Nadu along with their Portfolios on 6.5. 2021 (Thursday),” an official release said.
“The Hon’ble Governor of Tamil Nadu has approved the recommendations made by the Chief Minister-designate regarding persons to be appointed as Ministers,” the release added.
While CM-elect Stalin kept he Home Ministry portfolio to himself, the list revealed that Duraimurugan would be appointed as Minister for Water Resources, KN Nehru as Minister for Municipal Administration, K Ponmudi as Minister for Higher Education, M.R.K. Panneerselvam as Minister for Agriculture among other ministers who would take oath on May 7.
Madurai Central MLA Palanivel Thiagarajan will hold the finance portfolio. Tamil Nadu Governor Banwari Lal Purohit has given approval to the list.
