Bissouma requests transfer
Yves Bissouma has been one of the best performers for Brighton this season.
Graham Potter looks to have once again been able to keep the Seagulls in the Premier League and he has relied upon the Malian midfielder to anchor his side and be the key figure in retrieving possession and progressing play from the defensive third.
However this is a challenge in keeping him this summer with The Times reporting that the 24-year old has even requested he is allowed to leave in the summer.
Yves Bissouma has asked to be allowed to leave Brighton and Hove Albion at the end of the season amid interest from a trio of the Premier League’s wealthiest clubs.
The clubs touted with interest in the former Lille man are Arsenal, Manchester City and Liverpool.
101 produced a piece on why Bissouma should be a target of the Gunners late last year, feel free to check it out here.
Klopp’s Bissouma admiration
Jurgen Klopp is a huge admirer of Bissouma and sees him as a natural replacement for the likely exiting Gini Wijnaldum.
The Dutch midfielder’s contract is up at the end of the season and a move abroad is likely.
Wijnaldum’s agent invites Bayern to make a move for the #LFC midfielder as he prepares to become a free agent this summer. https://t.co/z9U0696lzY

Arteta’s target
Meanwhile Arsenal are coming off the back of one of their worst seasons and Mikel Arteta has spoken of the need to be ruthless with his squad this summer.
“I think a project has its phases and I am telling you we are in a much better position today to be where we want to be very soon, if we do what we have to do. But we have to be ruthless,” he said.
“We cannot be crying and stuck on what we don’t have. We have to see what we do have and maximise it to get what we want.”
Whether that comes to the fore is a different matter.
Bissouma will be seen as a perfect partner for Thomas Partey.
Fernandinho replacement
Similar to Liverpool, Man City have a key midfield figure leaving after Fernandinho’s contract is set to expire.
Guardiola may want to bring in Bissouma as competition for the likes of Rodri and Gundogan.
However, Bissouma may see Arsenal and Liverpool as options where more guarantees of playing time are available.
Guardiola has spoken of how players who want to play every week can effectively leave.
“I rotate the players a lot. When one guy wants to always play it’s not the right place to be,” he said.
Wherever Bissouma ends up, his performances on the south coast have earned him that place.
