S.K. Barua, Managing Director, NRL tweeted, “NRL has successfully procured ‘Carbon Steel Coated Line Pipes’ with a cumulative value of INR 2600 CR to be used for the Line Pipe Insertion for 1800 km (Approx) from Odisha to Assam (Numaligarh). #GeM is ready for extensive & complex procurements by large buyers”.
NRL has initiated an integrated Refinery Expansion project. NRL will import crude at Paradip port to meet its requirement post Refinery Expansion from 3 to 9 MMTPA (million metric tonnes per annum).
The company earlier stated NRL has embarked on a major Refinery Expansion project to treble its capacity from existing 3 MMTPA to 9 MMTPA at a project cost of more than Rs. 22,000 Crore, the highest ever investment in the North East of India. Formal approval from the Government of India for this project was received in January 2019.
The 130 KM Indo-Bangla Friendship Pipeline (IBFPL) for exporting NRL products from the Siliguri Marketing Terminal to Bangladesh is progressing well.
Barua had earlier said, “Pipeline is going on fine, we are constructing this pipeline. Once this pipeline comes in, NRL’s one million is assured in Bangladesh. Presently we are sending four rakes per month.”
