Cashless Payments At Abu Dhabi Taxis
The Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) has announced that individuals can now pay taxis without the use of cash.
The change has already come into effect.
Payments can now be made through the online platform called PayBy, where on reaching the destination, individuals can pay by scanning the QR code on the meter screen.
The transaction will go through by either confirming with facial recognition or touch ID and both the driver and the passenger will receive a message once it goes through.
Payment can be made by linking credit cards to the PayBy account. Individuals without credit cards can top up their accounts with cash at the kiosks or by adding money to the PayBy account through bank accounts online.
PayBy is offering limited time payment vouchers to users on the app to pay for their taxi fares. Taxi drivers will also receive payment incentives to promote the app.
