Heartwarming footage of Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes learning of his call up to the Portuguese national squad for the European Championships has surfaced online this evening.
Wolves quartet included
The 26-man panel set to represent the Selecção this summer was unveiled a short time ago.
Fernando Santos’ men will head into the rescheduled Euro 2020 eyeing a repeat of their endeavours in the last edition of the tournament, which of course saw them go all the way, to clinch glory at the expense of holders France in the Paris showpiece.
This will prove no easy task, though, with Portugal having been dealt a spot in the ‘Group of Death’, alongside world champions France, the ever-dangerous Germany, and Hungary.
In turn, boss Santos has opted for as close to a full strength squad as possible, including the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Raphael Guerreiro, Joao Felix and Andre Silva.
A heavy Premier League influence runs throughout, with Wolves quartet Rui Patricio, Nelson Semedo, Joao Moutinho and Ruben Neves joined by Manchester City stars Joao Cancelo, Ruben Dias and Bernardo Silva, and Liverpool attacker Diogo Jota.

Bruno’s joy
It is the inclusion of another star from the English top-flight, though, which, as outlined above, has since given rise to a heartwarming piece of footage.
The player in question? Bruno Fernandes.
In a piece of footage posted on social media, the Manchester United midfielder can be seen, alongside his daughter, reacting to the exact moment in which has name was announced as part of Portugal’s panel for next month’s tournament:
