New Delhi: In what appears to be a major breather amid the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic, the fresh cases of Covid-19 seems to be on the decline in at least six states, including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana, as the active caseload have dropped by more than half since May 15.
The active caseload in the national capital, which was 71,794 on May 15, has come down to 24,578 on May 25. With this positive development, Delhi has recorded a 65.76 percent drop in the active caseload.

Similarly, Haryana has a 61.49 percent drop in the active caseload with the numbers declining from 99,007 to 38,119.
Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand too have reported drops of nearly 61 percent. The Covid numbers have dropped in Uttar Pradesh from 1.93 lakh active cases on May 15 to 76,703 active cases on May 25. Likewise, the Covid figures now stand at 17,569 in Jharkhand, which recorded 45,056 active cases on May 15
The active case load has also dropped by more than half during the same time period in Bihar and Rajasthan. Bihar reported a 57.63 percent decline as the Covid figures have come down from 89,564 to 37,943 in the last ten days. Rajasthan witnessed a drop of 53.05 percent from 2.12 lakh to 99,875 active cases in the last ten days.
Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal reported the least decrease in active case loads. Andhra Pradesh witnessed a drop of 0.01 percent while West Bengal reported a 2.43 percent decline in the last ten days.
However, several other states, including Tripura, Meghalaya and Tamil Nadu, reported a jump in the active Covid-19 cases.

The figures in Tripura, which recorded 3,781 active cases on May 15, went up to 8,297 on May 25.
Meghalaya recorded a 94.02 percent jump in the last ten days from 4,014 cases on May 15 to 7,788 cases on May 25.
Likewise, the active cases in Tamil Nadu went up from1.95 lakh to 3.01 lakh in the last ten days with the state recording a 54.38 percent increase.
