Bale tight-lipped on future
Gareth Bale has shown little openness to discussing his future at either Real Madrid or a return to Tottenham Hotspur.
“I know what I’m going to do. I’m fully focused on the Euros,” he said.
“I don’t need any distractions going into it, during. I’m fully focused 110 per cent on Wales. That’s all my mind is on.
“I don’t want to cause any problems anywhere because I know things can get mixed in the media and people start making headlines.
“I don’t want to cause any distractions for myself or for the team. My sole focus is on Wales this Euros and nothing else.
“Anything else about my career, my future, will be sorted after.”
However, it seems the new man at Madrid has plenty to say on Bale’s possible Los Blancos future.
“He can have a great season”
The return of Carlo Ancelotti to Real Madrid has brought up a whole host of questions.
A new man at the helm but one with familiarities from his time in the Bernabeu in the early 2010s.
Bale joined Real Madrid in 2013, the same summer as Ancelotti and helped the Italian win la Decima with Los Blancos.
He is well-liked by the former Everton boss and that was evident in his comments about the Welshman.
“Gareth hasn’t played much in the Premier League, but he did score goals,” Ancelotti said. “He was effective in the final games of the season when he played consistently. I know him well. If he is motivated to play, he can have a great season. I have no doubt.”
Bale will return after reaching double digits for Spurs despite not playing as a regular in the team.
