Wijnaldum seemingly Barca bound
Ahead of this evening, it appeared that Georgino Wijnaldum was leaving Liverpool this summer and signing for Barcelona on a free transfer. Indeed, the generally reliable Fabrizio Romano tweeted that only the medical stood between the 30-year-old midfielder and the Nou Camp.
Ronald Koeman stays… and now Barcelona will sign new players after Eric and Agüero. Barça board pushing to sign Memphis Depay, 2/3 years contract bid on the table and club now ‘confident’. Wijnaldum will sign with Barça until 2024 once the medicals will be completed. ?? #FCB

PSG to challenge for his signature
However, a report from Spanish outlet El Chiringuito suggests that PSG are set to rival Barca’s interest in the soon-to-be free agent. According to journalist Jose Alvarez Haya, PSG are set to offer the Dutchman double that of Barcelona, a sum totally around 8 million euros, but would also offer him a three-year deal, which would see him net 24 million euros in Paris.

Perhaps crucially for Barcelona fans, the message ends with a tone of doubt, claiming that the Spanish side remain Wijnaldum’s first choice of club, a fact only furthered by the confirmation of Ronald Koeman’s leadership next season.
All will be revealed, as per Haya, next week. Wijnaldum will make a final decision and his move away from Anfield will be confirmed, in all likelihood ahead of the Netherlands’ first group game of Euro 2020, where they take on Ukraine.
PSG are trying to hijack Wijnaldum-Barcelona deal, as @moillorens @samuelmarsden revealed. ‘Enormous’ salary offered until 2024. ??
Barça still hoping to sign Gini as they’ve a verbal agreement reached + medicals set to be scheduled.
Wijnaldum will decide within 24/48 hours ⏳

With fellow dutchman Koeman at the helm, and Memphis Depay rumoured to be on his way to join up with the side as yet another free agent, it is easy to see why Barcelona is such an attractive destination for the ex-Liverpool midfielder.
Wijnaldum would join fellow free agents Sergio Aguero and Eric Garcia in swapping England for Catalonia, while Barcelona have also signed Emerson Royal in the past few days. Despite their overwhelming debt, it appears as though their rebuilding efforts could well bear fruit.
