As an avid fan of cleanliness in my home, I don’t mind giving my house a quick vacuum over every two or three days. I’ve been using the Dyson Digital Slim for a while now and it’s great for regular use. It’s smaller, lighter but still powerful and yet, it’s conventionally just like it’s older siblings. Well this is where the Dyson Omniglide could change it all.
Dyson Omni-Glide
The Dyson Omni-glide vacuum delivers a brand new way to clean hard floors. It’s the first ever Dyson vacuum cleaner engineered for daily cleaning in city homes, making it the perfect choice for users who like to vacuum often and get into the difficult nooks and crannies. Its omnidirectional Fluffy cleaner head has been engineered to glide in all directions – forwards, backwards and even sideways. Rearranged into a new in-line format, the machine can lie flat and clean in tight spaces.
In-line System
The uniqueness of the Omni-Glide comes from it’s new ‘in-line- system’. Simply speaking they’ve modified the entire vacuum into a wand-styled device. So instead of holding it like a gun and a trigger, you’d hold it like a stick with a button. The impressive part here is that (as always) Dyson’s engineers didn’t drop the performance of the device. There’s still the Dyson Hyperdymium motor spinning at 105,000 rpm and giving you ‘no loss’ suction. There’s still the Dyson five-stage filtration proprietary technology capturing 99.97% of particles as small as 0.3 microns and expelling cleaner air.
Omni-Directional
The whole idea behind the Omni-glide ( as it’s name makes obvious) is that the it’s been engineered to make vacuuming in tighter, smaller spaces easier. A huge part of this engineering is the first omnidirectional Fluffy cleaner head which comes with the unit. It floats on four 360° stabilising castors that allow it to move effortlessly in all directions and into tight spaces.
It is Dyson’s most manoeuvrable vacuum due to two core technologies: the omnidirectional fluffy cleaner head and the in-line format. The castors’ height and placement were engineered to ensure minimal resistance – whether rolling forwards, backwards or sideways. Sealed ball bearings also allow for a smooth change of direction and minimise build-up of dirt.
The Dyson Omni-glide also comes with four tools which include a light pipe crevice tool with LED lights, a mini motorised tool to tackle hair and ground-in dirt, a worktop tool and a combination tool. While these tools might be common with all Dyson vacuums, I’m most curious to see these in action.
There’s a lot more to be seen with the new Dyson Omni-glide. Apparently there’s an easier system to empty the bin, a power button instead of a trigger but there’s also lesser battery-life than usual. So there’s a lot to check out.
We’ll be reviewing the device soon, so don’t forget to keep an eye on this space for that.
