Euro Fantasy Football, June 11th updates
The wait is over, and Euro 2020 is final here. The first day’s action takes place on Friday, June 11th.
On the opening day we will see just one tie, which will be played out at the Stadio Olimpico where Turkey and Italy face off in a Group A clash.
Italy, Turkey, Switzerland and Wales makeup said group, with Italy the favourites to both top said group and win Friday’s game.
Turkey vs Italy will kick off at 8 PM UK time. Ahead of Friday’s match, 101 are bringing you everything you need to know about Italy and Turkey from a Euro Fantasy Football perspective.
This will be a daily feature on our site covering all Euro Fantasy Football action, so make sure to check back tomorrow for new updates.
Injury news
Heading into the Euro 2020 opener Italy, have a couple of injury concerns.
Marco Verratti did not feature in either of Italy’s recent friendlies and has been training alone after he suffered a knee injury several weeks ago.
Elsewhere, Alessandro Florenzi had been expected to start for Italy this weekend, but the right-back recently suffered a muscular issue which has made his inclusion vs Turkey less nailed on. The defender does seem a lot more likely to feature than Verratti but it is one to keep an eye on.
Turkey, meanwhile, currently have no new injury concerns, with Cenk Tosun – who has missed out on the tournament through injury – the only noticeable absentee.
Top 3 players to pick: Donnarumma, Immobile & Insigne
As already discussed, Italy are the favourites to win this tie, so their stars are likely to be your best options for your Euro Fantasy Football team on Friday.
And 101 have picked out the three best options below:
Gianluigi Donnarumma, Italy (5.55m)
Italy head into the clash with Turkey boasting a superb defensive record.
The Azzurri have not conceded a single goal in any of their last eight outings. They have also not let in more than one goal in a game since back in June of 2018, which was vs current World Cup holders, France.
Therefore, there is a very good chance that Gianluigi Donnarumma will be keeping a clean sheet this week.
Ciro Immobile, Italy (10m)
At the other end of the pitch, Ciro Immobile is likely to be Italy’s main goalscoring threat against Turkey.
The 31-year-old heads into the clash on the back of another solid seaosn with Lazio. He has also scored three and assisted one in his last four outings for his country and should be right amongst the goals vs Turkey.

Lorenzo Insigne, Italy (8.5m)
The final player you should have in your side heading into Friday’s game is Lorenzo Insigne.
Just behind Immobile, Insigne looks set to be Italy’s second biggest attacking threat at Euro 2020.
The winger has scored one and assisted five in his previous five outings for Italy.
He is also fairly cheap at 8.5m, and despite playing in a fairly advanced role, he is a midfielder on EFF – meaning he will earn more points for goals scored.
Captain of the day: Ciro Immobile
With just the one game taking place on Friday your captain options are somewhat limited.
All of the three aforementioned players would likely do fairly well four you.
But perhaps the best choice to be your captain on Friday is Immobile as pretty much all of Italy’s attacking work goes through him in some way.
