Paulina Porizkova is getting in on the cosmetic surgery sport — for a belated April Fool’s Day, that’s.
The mannequin, who’s an outspoken advocate in opposition to ageism, took to Instagram on April 2 to share a photograph of herself sporting some excessive fillers and cosmetic surgery. However, the photograph was created with the assistance of a particular photograph filter, slightly than a surgeon or injector.
“Alright — screw this natural aging biz. It’s getting me nowhere,” she captioned the submit. “#nolongerbetweenjloandbettywhite #happyfoolsdayyesterday.”
Porizkova’s followers appreciated the joke, with one writing, “The funny/scary part Paulina? There are people who have altered their faces enough to look like this!”
Another joked, “Now that’s MUCH higher! Should’ve accomplished that DECADES in the past,” while a third added, “We won’t tell anyone. I mean, you can’t tell.”
While the America’s Next Top Model alum may be poking fun at some extreme forms of self-alteration, she in a January Instagram post.
“When I post no Botox no fillers hashtags, I get a fair amount of criticism from women assuming I’m somehow being superior,” she wrote at the time. “I always have a knee jerk reaction to this — wanting to defend myself. No, no, I want to say, I’m merely going for representation. This is what it looks like to be an un-tweaked woman of 56, (ok, so on a good day and in great light). I, personally, want to see other women who haven’t tweaked, so I have a sense of what being my age looks like.”
Porizkova recently about how ageism is still a hurdle the modeling industry has yet to overcome.
“I felt ashamed to be growing older, after which alternatively you go, ‘But, I’m smarter, I’m higher, I’m funnier, I’m extra affected person!’ ” she said. “Overall as an individual, I’m one of the best I’ve ever been. So I’m not able to be dismissed.”
She added, “You do not get to dismiss me as a result of I’ve some wrinkles and sags and grey hair now, when I’m sort of fabulous, probably the most fabulous I’ve ever been. In reality, I’m going to only put it on the market and go, you understand what, that is me at my greatest. Deal with it!”
