Undercover’s artistic director Jun Takahashi has been the driving force behind the brand since its inception in 1990. Over the years, the company has evolved from an edgy streetwear brand to a high-fashion powerhouse. However, the collection has always maintained a high standard of originality. This season’s collaboration with Undercover features dark and light elements. The designs include a range of pieces featuring a motif inspired by a late twentieth-century Japanese comedy. They also have apparel based on the anime Neon Genesis Evangelion. These designs are based on the darker themes of the show. Takahashi studied at the Bunka Fashion College, where he assisted Lucio Fontana. While working for the fashion label, he began associating with the brand A Bathing Ape. Later, he was the frontman of a cover band called Sex Pistols.
