A statement from the premier’s office noted that the government has been conducting the largest communications campaign in Quebec’s history since the beginning of the global pandemic.
That undertaking, which has a monthly budget of around $13 million for media placements, aims to inform the public about health measures and the current guidance.
The government also indicated that the dramatic campaign featuring the testimony of people who had survived COVID-19 cost $337,000 while the campaign focused on mask wearing on public transit and hand washing ultimately cost $534,000.
Another government campaign involving three messages featuring more than 30 artists, TV hosts and sporting figures generated $195,000 in costs. A message from Dr. Caroline Quach concerning the reopening of schools and daycares that was broadcast on TV and radio cost $89,000. A campaign encouraging mask wearing that involved 16 influencers generated expenses totalling $83,000.
