ICICI Bank has recently introduced a unique proposition called ‘ICICI Bank MINE’, which is specially curated for millennials. The new offering, which is fast, easy, and promises quick results is exactly what millennials need in 2020. To name a few,

Instant savings account opening

A millennial can easily open a savings account completely digitally and instantly on the bank’s website or iMobile application using his/her Aadhaar and PAN card. The account number and a virtual debit card are instantly generated which can be used by customers immediately to start transacting and make payments online.

New look iMobile:

The customers get instant access to a new-look ‘iMobile’, the bank’s mobile banking app, with a refreshed UI/UX and millennial friendly language. The new version provides two additional benefits, in addition to the already existing bouquet of features, to customers.

New credit card with curated features

ICICI Bank offers the country’s first flexi-plan credit card to enable ‘ICICI Bank MINE’ customers to choose a plan every month in order to suit their lifestyle and monthly requirement. They can pick a plan from a bouquet of three just by a click on iMobile.

Instant personal loan and overdraft facility

Millennial customers can avail two instant credit facilities through ‘iMobile’ in order to fulfil their aspirations. Pre-approved customers can avail of ‘Insta Personal Loan’ facility up to ₹25 lakh in just three seconds for their one-time requirements like purchase of consumer durables, wedding, and relocation among others. They can also fund unforeseen monthly recurring expenses by availing the facility of Insta Flexicash, an overdraft linked to their ‘ICICI Bank Mine’ account.

I discovered all of this recently and jumped at the opportunity to experience ICICI Bank Mine because as an enthusiast, I would love to explore the newest technological changes. Read more about my experience here:

The new bank branch or the new place where millennials can hang out is located at Manyata Tech Park, a hub for many young and old office-goers in the city of Bangalore, Karnataka.

I visited this new branch and right when I entered, the first thing I noticed were the kiosks and the new branch location interiors that looked swanky and sleek. Up on entering, I noticed a doodle with the words ‘DREAM, BELIEVE, ACHIEVE’ – a motto every millennial has internalised effortlessly in this day and age.

With all safety precautions in place amidst the Pandemic, I entered the office which from the moment I stepped foot in, did not feel like a bank at all. It felt more like a place to chill and hangout, where the youth would happily settle with their folks. Another doodle welcomed me reading, ‘You are born to be a star’. This statement resonates with me every single day, so I immediately felt a connection and was happy to spend more time at this bright and colourful bank.

I believe, everyone is born to be a star and this doodle on the wall is entirely targeted towards the young generation making them feel welcomed right from the beginning.

A quick look at the office space was enough to notice the ‘Create your Avatar’ section with a doodle and a machine that is unmissable. This is the first touchpoint of the bank branch and from here you can notice ICICI Bank MINE and browse details of offers, products, RBI notices and more. In fact, you can also apply for products even without being an ICICI Bank customer.

I explored the ‘Create Your Avatar’ machine and tried out its fun, interactive features which I found out to be very detailed in terms of information about the bank and other related services. Everything was available with just a click of the button which takes convenience to the next level. Here you can also provide your AADHAR and PAN card details and open ICICI Bank MINE Account instantaneously. No waiting, no paperwork, just your account opened digitally with a few clicks of a button.

I then moved ahead to notice a vending machine – a first-of-its-kind in a bank. A little further was a nice community area with comfortable seating space and I was intrigued to use the vending machine so I bought a couple of my favourite snacks and settled there for a bit.

The entire branch is a spacious space which means there won’t be an issue of people overcrowding it.

I also went on to explore the ICICI Bank MINE section of my ICICI Bank mobile application. The iMobile app has a new UX/UI app with every detail that millennials need. The app has a well-guided tutorial that directs you to steps you can take if you are not a customer but want to open an account. The process is instant and will quickly give you access to a virtual debit card. You can also use the app for bill payments, shopping, dining, and additionally, for investments, savings, FD’s, and a host of other bank related operations.

The mobile application was interactive, easy to use, and user-friendly especially for the youth.

After some time of exploring the application, I continued to explore the branch and reached the performance area called ‘MINE Live’ – an event area where specially curated virtual events based on the theme of travel, lifestyle entertainment, etc. will be hosted.

The opposite side of the ‘MINE live’ area consisted an interactive kiosk with three tabs. Out of the three, one tab is called DIGI Branch which can be used by an ICICI Bank customer where he/she can log in and get the required information.

The right side of this wall has ‘The Rockstars of Innovation’ which is a digital display on the wall where the bank showcases its various products and offers.

Last but not the least is a touch of human interaction which one can do at i-dream – give wings to your ambition section where one can clear all their queries and also get the required information by interacting with a bank personnel who will guide you and help clear your doubts.
