Shantabai Pawar, who became an internet sensation with her ‘Lathi Kathi’ video, recently graced the sets of Sony TV’s ‘Indian Idol 12’. The 85-year-old came to ‘Indian Idol’ to extend support to her favourite contestant Sayli Kamble, who has managed to win the hearts of the judges. The weekend episode of the singing reality show proved to be blockbuster affair as it featured Shantabai Pawar and rapper Badshah.

Neha Kakkar Offers Rs 1 Lakh To Shantabai Pawar
Shantabai, who is fondly known as Warrior Aaji, shared her story on ‘Indian Idol 12’ and revealed that she is taking care of 10 orphan girls. She also talked about the challenges she has to face while performing the Marathi martial art.
Neha Kakkar, who is one of the judges of the show, got emotional after hearing Shantabai Pawar’s inspirational story. The ‘Khyal Rakhya Kar’ singer extended a financial aid of Rs 1 lakh to Pawar so that she can continue her good work.

Who Is Shantabai Pawar?
The 85-year-old agile and dexterous woman grabbed eyeballs after a video of her performing a martial art form on the streets of Pune went viral on the internet during the COVID-19 lockdown. Shantabai displayed her stick-fighting skills in the clip which was heavily circulated on different social media platforms.
Pawar, while talking to ANI, said that she has been doing ‘Lathi Kathi’ since the age of eight. She added that she learned the martial art form from her father.
Several Bollywood celebs including Sonu Sood came forward to provide help to Pawar after her video went viral. The ‘Dabangg’ star, who has emerged as the messiah of migrant workers, said that he will opened a training school with her. He had requested the fans to provide him the details of Shantabai on Twitter after he came across her clip.
What Shantabai Said About Sayli Kamble?
The octogenarian praised Kamble’s singing skills and prayed for her growth in the musical industry. “This girl sings very well, and I have come to support her. I pray and bless this girl that she may move mountains and excel ahead on her musical journey,” Shantabai was quoted as saying by Bollywood Hungama.
