On Tuesday, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex released their first Spotify podcast, a Holiday Special episode, which featured guests including Sir Elton John, Stacey Abrams, James Corden, author Matt Haig and George the Poet.
However, towards the end of the holiday special, Meghan and Harry’s son Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor also took the opportunity to say a few words, at the prompting of his parents.
“You can speak into it,” Prince Harry can be heard telling his son, before Meghan asks: “Archie, is it fun?”
The 19-month-old repeats after his mother and says: “Fun,” prompting the duchess to laugh.
The duke then directs Archie to repeat after him, starting: “Happy,” followed by “new”.
After repeating “new,” Archie was able to complete the well-wishes on his own, speaking into the microphone: “New…Year.”
The sweet conversation was met with laughter from Archie’s parents, with Meghan exclaiming: “Yay!” while Harry added: “Boom.”
The duke and duchess’s first podcast, and Archie’s guest debut, comes after the couple announced they had signed an exclusive podcast deal with Spotify earlier this month.
In a trailer released at the time, Harry said the couple’s Archewell Audio production company would be about bringing “forward different perspectives and voices that perhaps you haven’t heard before – and find[ing] our common ground”.
