Sony’s PlayStation 5 gaming console has been flying off the shelves of retailers since its release on November 12.
Supplies have increased in recent weeks but many customers continue to struggle to bag a PS5, with restocks selling out just the same.
Yesterday, Amazon dropped their first restock of the PS5 in the U.S. since November 12. Even with no prior announcement made by the retailer, the restocks were quickly snapped up by lucky shoppers.
Some relief may be on the way next year, with Sony expected to ship around 16.8 million to 18 million PS5 units in 2021, according to industry sources, Digitimes reported Tuesday.
Here we look at the latest PS5 restock information from some major retailers and other websites.
Target PS5 Restock
Target may be the most promising place to potentially secure a PS5. The retailer has been restocking PS5 in recent weeks, so monitoring their website is your best option for bagging one as soon as they’re available.
Earlier this week, Target was tipped to have a restock available from December 28, which didn’t materialize. Multiple restocks have been reported for the Midwest region, while some stores in the West Coast and southern regions have units on-hand, SpielTimes reported.
Availability differs by location, so check your local store for the latest information. It is only available via “contactless Drive Up or Order Pickup” services. Purchases are limited to one unit per customer.
Best Buy PS5 Restock
PS5 at Best Buy, which can only be purchased via the retailer’s website, is also currently sold out. The company’s PS5 package deals, which come with PS5 games or controllers and a higher price, are also out of stock.
The retailer advises customers to “keep an eye on BestBuy.com, where they’ll [PS5s] be available for purchase as soon as we have them available. This means there’s no need to camp out at your local store. Just check back on BestBuy.com without leaving home.
“And ordering online still lets you get your new console however you want—whether that’s through Store Pickup or contactless Curbside Pickup,” the company adds.
Walmart PS5 Restock
PS5 is still out of stock at Walmart. The item page is not available and customers cannot place any back orders.
The company advises: “We are working hard to give as many customers as possible a chance to secure this year’s hottest gaming consoles, including the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
“To ensure consoles reach as many households as possible, we have quantity limits in place. Our agents cannot advise on what the limitations are or how they work as this is proprietary information. Please visit Walmart.com or our app check availability.
“We will make any inventory available for purchase once it is back in stock. The item page will be available when inventory is back in stock.
“Keep an eye on Walmart.com or the Walmart App for updates,” the company notes.
Amazon PS5 Restock
PS5 at Amazon is also out of stock, according to the item page. Amazon notes: “We don’t know when or if this item will be back in stock.”
Earlier this week, the PS5 Disc Edition appeared to be in stock on December 29 at 11 a.m. ET, but was out of stock after just 9 minutes. It reappeared in stock at 4 p.m., but after only a minute was once again out of stock, according to GamingIntel.
Costco PS5 Restock
Costco offers a PS5 package, which includes an additional controller, the Spider-Man: Miles Morales Ultimate Launch Edition game and one month PlayStation Now membership. However, the package is also currently out of stock.
Newegg PS5 Restock
PS5 deals at Newegg are all bundles and they are all currently out of stock. The company notes the items are “temporarily out of stock because of high demand, we will replenish it as soon as possible.”
One bundle, which comes with a PS5 Digital Edition console, as well as a DualSense Controller, PS5 HD Camera and PlayStation Media Remote, is said to be “coming soon,” according to Newegg.
PS5 restocks at Newegg usually take place at 5 p.m. PT, 8 p.m. ET. Also check the Newegg Twitter account as the company sometimes tweets restock information when the next restock is about to take place.
PopFinder, BrickSeek and NowinStock PS5 Restock
Inventory tracking websites like PopFindr, BrickSeek and NowinStock help alert customers when a PS5 is back in stock but some retailers are blocking these services.
