2 arrested for killing Congress chief, nephew in UP’s Chitrakoot

CHITRAKOOT: Police on Monday arrested the principle accused within the homicide of an area Congress chief and his nephew in Chitrakoot district in Uttar Pradesh final week.

“Today main accused Kamlesh Raikwar was arrested. His son Rahul was arrested on Sunday,” Superintendent of Police (SP) of Chitrakoot Ankit Mittal mentioned.

Former district unit vice-president of Congress Ashok Patel (55) and his 28-year-old nephew Shubham have been shot useless of their residence in Prasiddhpur village within the night of December 29, the police officer mentioned.

Police had earlier mentioned that Raikwar had an previous rivalry with Patel.

Two members of the family of the deceased have been additionally injured.

Following the double homicide, Pahadi police station SHO Shravan Kumar Singh was suspended on fees of laxity.
