Windsor Regional Hospital is expanding the hours of operation of its Met campus COVID-19 assessment centre.
Starting Monday, the testing centre will run seven days a week, matching the hours at the Ouellette campus. The assessment centres at both hospitals will be open 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. every day.
“With the extended hours, we anticipate that some same-day and next-day appointments will be available amid continued strong demand for swab tests,” the hospital said in a media release.
To schedule an appointment at either centre, go to wrh.on.ca/OnlineBooking. You can then select a date and time for your appointment or click on “first available time.” Have your health card in hand when booking an appointment.
The hospital said there continues to be a problem with people booking appointments and not showing up, leaving slot times open and unused.
If you need to cancel your appointment, call 519-973-4443, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. This will free up space for people who need to get a test, the hospital said.
The hospital also wants to remind people that if they have mild to moderate respiratory issues or other symptoms that may be related to COVID-19, they should contact their primary care provider first.
If the symptoms are serious, such as severe difficulty breathing, severe chest pain, feeling confused or losing consciousness, call 911.
You should also call 911 if your child is having difficulty breathing, making crowing or high-pitched breathing sounds, has bluish discolouration around the mouth, is very sleepy, unresponsive or having seizures.
