Emergency child care for health care and other frontline workers has been extended to Jan. 22.
It was initially set to run from Jan. 4-8 but will now include Jan. 11-22.
Child care is being provided free of charge to those identified on the province’s list of workers eligible for emergency child care for school-aged children only.
The extension was made possible with funding from the provincial government to the city of Windsor’s targeted emergency child care plan.
Only approved Licensed Child Care Centres and Licensed Home Child Care Programs throughout Windsor-Essex County are able to provide child care for this age group.
An application for emergency child care must be made directly to the city’s Children’s Services Department.
Updated information on provincial announcements regarding Targeted Emergency Child Care for School-Aged Children, for the week of Jan. 11 – 22, 2021, including a list of locations, is available on www.citywindsor.ca.
