The Windsor Essex County Health Unit announced 228 new cases of COVID-19 Sunday and one additional death.
A woman in her 80s who was living in long term care became the 210th fatality for the region.
The health unit reported 199 new cases and seven deaths Saturday.
In total, the region has seen 9,673 cases.
Of Sunday’s count, 13 are related to an outbreak, 16 are close contacts with a confirmed case, three are community spread and 196 are under investigation.
Outbreaks in this region include 21 long-term care and retirement homes, 18 workplaces, three community settings and two hospitals.
