MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Diamond Miller scored 23 factors, Chloe Bibby had 22 and No. 9 Maryland beat Minnesota 90-73 on Thursday.
Katie Benzan added 20 factors because the Terrapins (10-1, 6-0 Big Ten) gained their ninth straight. Leading scorer Ashley Osuwu (18.8 factors per sport) had 11.
“It’s a testament to the great talent and depth that we have,” Maryland coach Brenda Frese stated. “When we share the basketball, great things are in store for us. We know we can score … the concern for us is defense and rebounding.”
Jasmine Powell led Minnesota (2-7, 1-6) with 22 factors and eight assists. Sara Scalia added 14 factors and Klarke Sconiers chipped in 13. The Gophers have only one victory since a season-opening win over Eastern Illinois on Dec. 2.
Maryland led by seven on the half, however the Terrapins took over with a dominant third quarter. Miller rattled off seven straight factors to cap a 10-0 run, and he or she transformed a three-point play on the finish of a 9-0 run later within the quarter.

Maryland: The balanced scoring assault that has carried Maryland into the highest 10 was again in kind on Thursday.
