23-year-old Shakur Hassan was killed in Austin Road, Hayes, on 13 October 2020, while a burnt out car which was believed to have been involved with the murder was found a few miles away.
The boy, who cannot be named because of his age, has been charged with murder and perverting the cause of justice, said Scotland Yard. He is due to appear at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday along with Guled Hassan, 21, who is also charged with murder.
A 16-year-old boy, who cannot be named, Jamie Ayres, 46, from Northolt, are set to appear at the Old Bailey later this week charged with murder.
Police were called to reports of a shooting on Austin Road last October shortly before 10pm and found Shakur with gunshot injuries.
Paramedics from the London Ambulance Service also attended, but despite their efforts, Shakur was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.
Detective Inspector Katherine Goodwin, who is leading the investigation, said at the time: “Firstly my thoughts are with Shakur’s family and friends. I want to reassure them and the wider community that my team and I are working hard to piece together the circumstances that led to this tragic outcome.”
