Acer has announced a pair of new 11-inch Chromebook for the education market. These come with well-rounded features intended to make it as easy as possible for a school to go digital. They both come with military durability standards (MIL-STD-810H), zero-touch enrolment and Chrome OS.
Acer Chromebook 511
With the Acer Chromebook 511, you find an 11.6-inch notebook that simplifies the process of establishing a digital learning environment. It comes with the Qualcomm Snapdragon-7c compute platform allowing for 20 hours of battery life and efficient perfromance.
The laptop also delivers built-in 4G LTE connectivity to help protect the security of users’ data as well as provide fast and reliable access to learning applications in the cloud. Weighing just 1.3 kg, this thin and light device is portable enough for students of all ages.
Acer Chromebook 311
Made for K-12 students and those supervising them, the Acer Chromebook 311 comes with a MediaTek MT8183 processor. This laptop can survive the mishaps of a typical school day yet remain suitable for more vulnerable young learners. Like the Acer Chromebook 511, it is built in compliance with a pair of leading toy safety standards.
During learning, the laptop comes with 20 hours of battery life. It also includes a number of features to enhance collaborative learning such as an optional touchscreen, an HDR webcam and all the advantages of Chrome OS. These included quicker boot times, an easy-to-use interface, built-in malware protection and more.
Pricing and availability
Both the Acer Chromebook 511 and Chromebook 311 support applications via Google Play and web based applications. They will be available in the EMEA in March. We will update you as soon as we know more about each device’s pricing.
