A young man was injured in an apparent drive-by shooting on Saturday evening in Rivière-des-Prairies.
The man was in a vehicle on Gouin Boulevard East around 7 p.m. when the shooting took place.
Montreal police spokesperson Véronique Comtois said the shots appeared to have come from another vehicle that fled the scene.
The victim, a 20-year-old man, was transported to hospital and his life is considered out of danger, she added.
As the investigation continues, a canine unit has been deployed to the scene.
The incident took place hours after a man was shot in the chest in Montreal North.
It’s not yet known if the two shootings were connected.
