President Joe Biden’s special presidential envoy for climate, John Kerry, took a private jet to Iceland to accept an environmental award in 2019.
The 2004 Democratic presidential nominee and former Secretary of State has long warned of the dangers of climate change and global warming.

Icelandic Reporter Challenged Kerry On His Use Of A Private Jet
Nevertheless, Biden’s ‘climate czar’ took a private jet when he received the Arctic Circle Prize for his advocacy on climate change awareness and reform.
An interview obtained by Fox News on Wednesday showed Kerry defending his mode of travel, even adding that his private jet was “the only choice for somebody like me who is traveling the world to win this battle.”
When Icelandic reporter Jóhann Bjarni Kolbeinsson asked Kerry about the flight, Kerry brought up offsetting his carbon output and instead of a clear answer, emphasized other environmental efforts he has made.

The revelation comes to light just after the Biden administration effectively killed the Keystone XL pipeline.
In response to criticism about all the middle class, union jobs that were destroyed from the move, Kerry condescendingly claimed that the pipeline workers would now be able to make “better choices.”
And, of course, they could build solar panels.
Kerry didn’t explain whether or not the solar panels would be able to fuel his private jet:
“What President Biden wants to do is make sure those folks have better choices, that they have alternatives. They can be the people who go to work to build the solar panels, making them here at home.”
Kerry: ‘I Have To Fly, Meet With People, And Get Things Done’
The top of his list? The negotiation of the Paris Accords. The agreement President Biden rejoined upon taking office.
“I’ve been involved with this fight for years. I negotiated with President Xi to bring President Xi to the table so we could get Paris,” Kerry said. “And, I believe, the time it takes me to get somewhere, I can’t sail across the ocean.”
“I have to fly, meet with people, and get things done,” Kerry said.
Kerry did not explain why he couldn’t take a commercial flight instead. Private jets emit around 40 times more carbon per passenger.
“I offset and contribute my life to do this, I’m not going to be put on the defensive,” Kerry added. Kerry did not immediately explain how he offsets his emissions or plans to do so.
It should be noted that Kerry still owns a private jet via a family company. Fox News reports, “flight logs indicated that his family’s private jet spent over 20 hours in the air over the past year — culminating in an estimated 116 metric tons of carbon emissions.”

Kerry: We Only Have Nine Years To Figure Out Climate Change
Contrast this flight activity by Kerry with comments he made during a BBC interview last week.
“Three years ago, we were told we have 12 years to avoid those consequences,” Kerry said. “Three of those years were lost because we had Donald Trump, who didn’t believe in any of it.”
Kerry declared, “And now we have nine years left to try to do what science is telling us we need to do.”
Nine years left – and John Kerry is still flying around in his private jet?
Something does not compute, in his brain.
