The Windsor-Essex County Health Unit reported an additional 25 cases of COVID-19 on Saturday, and seven additional deaths.
Of the seven people who died, six lived in long-term care or a retirement home and one lived in the community. They include two men and two women in their 70’s, a man and a woman in their 80’s and a woman in her 100’s.
Since March 2020, 343 people in Windsor-Essex have died as a result of COVID-19.
To date, 12,319 local residents have tested positive for the novel coronavirus, with 365 of those cases still active and being monitored by the health unit.
There are 51 people who have tested positive in local hospitals.
There are 30 active COVID-19 outbreaks across the region, including 12 workplaces, 13 long-term care and retirement homes and five hospital settings.
