As of the latest figures given on Feb. 12
• Total number of confirmed cases: 72,750 (4,347 active)
• New cases since Feb. 11: 445
• Total deaths: 1,288 (10 new)
• Hospitalized cases: 226
• Intensive care: 61
• Total vaccinations: 162,982 first doses, 17,562 second doses.
• Cases under public health monitoring: 7,035
• Recovered: 67,008
• Long-term care and assisted-living homes, and acute care facilities currently affected: 22

LATEST NEWS ON COVID-19 IN B.C.
Saturday, Feb. 13
6:30 p.m. – Fraser Health declares outbreak at Shaughnessy Care Centre
Fraser Health has declared a COVID-19 outbreak at Shaughnessy Care Centre in Port Coquitlam, where two residents tested positive.
Shaughnessy is a long-term care facility owned and operated by Park Place Seniors Living. The affected residents are self-isolating in their care home.
12 a.m. – Fraser Health declares COVID-19 outbreak over at Royal Columbian Hospital
Fraser Health has declared the COVID-19 outbreak over at Royal Columbian Hospital.
The outbreak in one unit was declared in January. Health officials said Friday that there was no longer an outbreak at the hospital.
12 a.m. – Health officials announce 445 new cases, 10 additional deaths
Health officials announced Friday another 445 British Columbians have tested positive for Covid-19, bringing the total number of cases in B.C. to 72, 750 since the beginning of the pandemic.

An additional 10 deaths were recorded, bringing the total number of British Columbians who have died as a result of the virus to 1,288.
Of the new cases, 135 are in the Vancouver Coastal Health region, 218 are in the Fraser Health region, 15 are in the Vancouver Island Health region, 44 are in the Interior Health region, and 30 were in the North Health Region.
Provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry also noted the appearance of a new variant of concern in the Interior Health region — the Nigeria variant. In addition, there are 29 reported cases of the U.K. variant and 17 cases of the South African variant.
