Good tidings, fellow streamers. February was a decent month for new content and we at Android Authority made the most of it by watching some awesome titles across genres and popular platforms. We’ve picked six of these streaming shows and movies from our watchlists that we think you’ll also enjoy. Take a look.
What to stream: Our favorite TV shows and movies in February
I Care A Lot
Streamed by: Bogdan Petrovan, Business Analytics Manager
I Care A Lot is flawed, yet highly entertaining. The cast, anchored by Rosamund Pike, Peter Dinklage, and Dianne Wiest, is stellar, though only Pike gets to really flex her talent as the ice-cold crook that prays on the vulnerable she’s supposed to protect. The movie is the strongest when it comments on the corrupt system and the greedy monsters that inhabit it, but ironically loses steam as the action scenes ramp up. The electronic soundtrack is A+, and the cinematography is on point. All in all, a good flick.
Nomadland
Streamed by: Jimmy Westenberg, Managing Editor (News), Wearables Editor
I loved Frances McDormand in Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, so I was excited to see her in a starring role in Nomadland.
This movie is inspiring and heartbreaking. It shines a very interesting light on the nomad lifestyle and encourages you to look at life from a different perspective. I cannot recommend this movie enough.
Good Girls
Streamed by: Edgar Cervantes, Head of Imaging
Starring Christina Hendricks and Retta in the lead, Good Girls tells the story of suburban moms having a difficult time trying to make ends meet. That is, until they take matters into their own hands and decide to rob a supermarket. Here’s what Edgar had to say about the series that’s now three seasons down:
This show has a little bit of everything: the usual struggles of family life, financial struggle, crime, love, betrayal, and more. It can be really funny and silly, but also serious and sad.
Behind Her Eyes
Streamed by: Adamya Sharma, Editor
If you’re looking for a quick and thrilling watch, you might like to stream Behind Her Eyes on Netflix. The plot of the British TV show unfolds with each passing episode, and you’re left guessing the crux of the mystery right till the end. Much of the story is about a love triangle gone bad. A psychiatrist has an affair with his secretary and things get ugly when his wife finds out. Sounds like a familiar narrative, right? Only it’s not the “what” but the “why” and “how” that make the show a compelling watch.
WandaVision
Streamed by: John Callaham, Writer
WandaVision continues to surprise and delight with its mysterious storyline slowly revealing itself. There’s almost no superhero action (so far), but that’s been offset by the humor, great performances by Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Bettany, Kathryn Hahn, and others, and the overall use of sitcom tropes through the decades as a way to tell Wanda’s overall story of dealing with grief and loneliness.
Le Mans: Racing Is Everything
Streamed by: Hadlee Simons, Editor
I only recently signed up for Prime Video, and my first impressions are that I’m probably going to cancel soon. That’s a story for another day though. I’m a huge motorsport fan, and I’ve been meaning to watch this series, which covers the famous 24-hour race. I’m also adding the McLaren F1 series, Grand Prix Driver, to my watchlist.
So those were the five streaming titles we think you should stream this month. March will also be a great month for binging with many new shows and movies going up online, so be sure to keep a lookout on our website for more streaming suggestions.
