Wathba 2021: Final Annual Camel Race Festival
The Final Annual Camel Races Festival, Wathba 2021, begins on 1 March at Al Wathba racetrack.
Camel racing is a part of Emirati heritage as camels have long played a vital part in providing transport, food and much more, and have since become an integral part of Emirati traditions and culture.
The event is under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
The event is organised by the Camel Racing Federation, which is under the chairmanship of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, Adviser to the UAE President.
