Observations from the Mets’ spring training game on Saturday:
Dom’s doings
Dominic Smith, in his second start of the spring, blasted a solo homer in the fourth inning of the Mets’ 6-1 exhibition victory over the Astros in West Palm Beach, Fla.
Not yet
Francisco Lindor is still searching for his first hit of the spring after going 0-for-3 against the Astros. The All-Star shortstop is hitless in six at-bats.
Caught my eye
The Mets brought their entire starting lineup on the road to work behind Jacob deGrom, with the exception of Brandon Nimmo, who remained in Port St. Lucie. Kevin Millar started in center field with Albert Almora Jr. in left. Nimmo will play Sunday, according to Luis Rojas.
Sunday’s Schedule
Marcus Stroman is scheduled to start against the Marlins in Port St. Lucie. Jeurys Familia and Aaron Loup are among the other pitchers on the schedule for the Mets.
