Witnessing a continuous surge in the cases of Coronavirus in the state, the Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) has decided to postpone the board exams of Class 10 and Class 12.
Earlier, class 10 and class 12 board exams were scheduled to begin from April 9 and March 22, respectively. As per the latest announcement, now the Class 10 board exams will be held between May 4 and May 24 while Class 12 exams will be held between April 20 and May 24.

Meanwhile, the schools have been shut under the guidelines issued by the Punjab government.
School Education Minister Vijay Inder Singla on Friday made an announcement that the Punjab government has declared preparatory leaves for all classes in the government, government-aided and private schools amid the rising number of COVID-infected cases in the state.
Last week, the state administration imposed a night curfew in Patiala, Mohali, Fatehgarh Sahib district between 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. from March 12. The district administration however, exempted essential services, government officials and medical emergency services.
Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh had last month in the wake of the rising coronavirus cases said that he would review the Covid-19 situation with health experts and senior officers.
