Almost 2 Million Tons Of Waste Recycled
The Abu Dhabi Waste Management Centre (Tadweer) has recycled over 1,915,724 tons of construction and demolition waste in Abu Dhabi in 2020.
It accounts for 80% of the construction and demolition waste handled by the facilities. The waste is equivalent to 255 domes of the Louvre Museum in Abu Dhabi.
Tadweer has since implemented various programmes to reduce waste from construction and demolition activities to ensure that recycling is done in line with the highest local and international standards.
The Abu Dhabi Executive Council has also initiated the use of 40% of the recycled construction and demolition waste materials be used in road and construction projects in Abu Dhabi.
