Dignity Health and Central California Alliance for Health “CCAH” have partnered for more than 20 years to ensure that the most vulnerable in our communities can access high quality health care. We are participating in active discussions with CCAH regarding our contract renewal, and we will continue to negotiate in good faith until all avenues have been exhausted. Right now nothing is changing for CCAH members; however in the absence of a new agreement by March 31, Dignity Health hospitals and medical groups would only be contracted to provide a more limited set of services.
Dignity Health is a nonprofit organization and depends on reimbursement from health plans to sustain its services. Although reimbursement from CCAH to Dignity Health is already well below the cost of providing this care, Dignity Health has offered a rate reduction in order to help CCAH meet its financial goals. Providing care for low-income community members is at the core of our mission, and we would like to reach agreement on contract terms in order to continue serving CCAH members.
“Dignity Health is the leading provider of Medi-Cal services for low-income patients in California and a crucial part of the public health safety net in Merced and Santa Cruz counties,” said Dr. Rob Quinn, CEO, Dignity Health Medical Foundation. “We are hopeful CCAH will accept Dignity Health’s proposal so we collectively avoid a situation where patients will need to travel further to receive elective treatment and preventive care.”
