Portia de Rossi is recovering after undergoing an emergency appendectomy on Friday.
The “Arrested Development” star was experiencing pain, so her wife, Ellen DeGeneres, took her to the hospital where she was diagnosed with appendicitis, a source confirms to Page Six.
We’re told de Rossi, 48, is already back at home and doing well following the surgery.
The pandemic has seen both de Rossi and DeGeneres experience health woes. In December, the 63-year-old talk show host revealed she had tested positive for COVID-19 and was experiencing experiencing “excruciating back pain.”
“One thing that they don’t tell you is you get, somehow, excruciating back pain,” DeGeneres, who since has recovered fully, shared with fans at the time. “Didn’t know that that was a symptom but I talked to some other people — back pain. Who knew, how come? Back pain, bad.”
DeGeneres also endured a toxic workplace scandal surrounding her eponymous talk show after numerous employees alleged the host treated them with cruelty and abuse. The “Finding Dory” star later said de Rossi was critical in getting her through her low points.
“It broke my heart; I couldn’t have gone through everything I went through without her,” DeGeneres told People in February. “It was a horrible time in my life, and she was a rock. She kept me going and tried to help me put things in perspective.”
The couple tied the knot in 2008.
