In West Bengal, the 31 Assembly seats are spread across South 24 parganas, Howrah and Hooghly. They are crucial both for the Trinamool Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party.
In Puducherry, the AINRC-BJP-AIADMK take on Congress-DMK for 30 assembly seats. The Congress-led government there had fallen with just weeks left for polls.
In Kerala, the ruling Left Democratic Front and the Congress-led United Democratic Front are the main players. BJP’s NDA is the third force.
In Tamil Nadu, voting will be held across all 234 assembly constituencies in 38 districts. The main players are the AIADMK-BJP alliance and the opposition Congress-DMK alliance.
It’s a big poll day today. Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Puducherry will vote in all the constituencies. West Bengal will vote in 31 seats in its third phase. And Assam will vote in 40 seats in its final phase.
