Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday informed that he has isolated himself as a precautionary measure after some officials at his office tested positive for the Coronavirus.
While making the announcement on Twitter, Adityanath wrote: “Some officials of my office have tested positive for Covid-19. As a precautionary measure, I have isolated myself and carrying on with my work virtually.”
As per reports, some officials at Adityanath’s office, including his OSD, tested positive for Coronavirus.
Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday reported the highest-ever single-day spike of 18,021 coronavirus cases and 85 deaths in the last 24 hours. With this, the UP’s caseload now stands at 7,23,582 and the death toll at 9,309.
Earlier in the day, UP Health Department informed that in the past 24 hours, 18,021 fresh cases were reported while 3,474 people were discharged during this period. There are 95,980 active cases while 6,18,293 were treated and discharged. The state has reported a total of 9,309 deaths since the start of the pandemic.

Meerganj MLA DC Verma and BJP district president Pawan Sharma have also tested positive for the disease.
In a letter that surfaced on social media earlier in the day, UP law minister Brajesh Pathak lashed out at his state’s health authorities, complaining that beds for coronavirus patients are falling short and ambulances take hours to arrive in the UP capital, which he said could face a lockdown again.
“The beds for COVID-19 patients in hospitals should be increased, testing should be increased and enough testing kits should be made available, said the letter written Monday to Additional Chief Secretary (Medical and Health) and Additional Chief Secretary (Medical Education).
