Lebanon will issue a travel ban on incoming passengers from India and Brazil due to a recent surge in coronavirus infections, the state-run National News Agency reported on Wednesday.
The coronavirus task force in Lebanon recommended against allowing entry to travelers from the two countries unless they have spent at least 14 days in a third country.

India and Brazil have been facing a new wave of coronavirus cases and COVID-19-related deaths in recent weeks.
Meanwhile, Lebanese officials announced a complete lockdown for the coming weekend, where Orthodox Easter will be celebrated across the country. A similar lockdown was enforced during the Western Easter celebrations earlier this month.
Officials are also expected to order yet another lockdown next month when Muslims celebrate Eid al-Fitr to mark the end of Ramadan.
